The show follows the adventures of the bounty hunters aboard the Bebop, an interstellar ship. While the series has plenty of action and adventure, the emotional core of the show is the characters and the way they deal with adversity, including existential loneliness.

The animation and voice acting have all been singled out for praise, as well as the genre mashup: It's got noir, Western, sci-fi and cyberpunk — and a great soundtrack.
