About This Quiz

Hollywood films thrive on life-changing scenes, and there's nothing more life-altering than, well, death. It won't shock you that some of the highest onscreen body counts are credited to war movies. But you might be surprised by some of the kill-frenzied facts in this quiz.
The "Lord of the Rings" trilogy featured a lot of sprawling battle scenes. Which of the three films featured the highest body count (extended versions for all)?
"Fellowship of the Ring"
"The Two Towers"
"Return of the King"
"The Two Towers" had a body count of 468. "Fellowship of the Ring," by comparison was practically bloodless with 118. "Return of the King" made carnage look like it was going out of style, with a whopping 836 deaths, including 147 humans, 524 Uruk-hai and Orcs, and two hobbits.

Rotten Tomatoes did a deep dive into horror movies and body counts and came up with what surprising fact?
Horror movies with lower body counts got higher critics' ratings than those with higher body counts.
Horror movies with lower body counts did better at the box office than those with higher body counts.
Both are correct.
Rotten Tomatoes found that lower body count flicks did better with both critics and audiences. In fairness, these were often the first and second installments of a franchise. The longer a franchise ran, the higher the body counts got and the worse the movies performed at the box office.
