Search for the Perfect StormJoin "Storm Tracker" Jim Cantore as he talks with the real people who have tested their mettle in the face of Nature's wrath. This story told by rescuers and survivors is as moving as it is gripping. On June 12, 2004, storm chasers Lanny Dean and J.D. Stewart follow a super cell south of Wichita, Kansas, and spot two tornadoes. The first causes little damage, but the second one intensifies as it moves across Kansas. Nearby, resident Chris Landis notices a particular funnel cloud over her home. She decides to take cover with her son in their basement. Lanny Dean sees the twister hit the Landis home and dissipate shortly thereafter. He approaches the Landis home to see if anyone has been harmed, and as Chris emerges from her hiding space, she realizes her home is gone. After checking on the Landis', Lanny tries to contact his partner J.D.. When he doesn't get a response he decides to head to Wichita. It turns out that J.D. had gotten a tip on another storm SE of Wichita, so as darkness falls he's chasing tornadoes at the most dangerous time - at night. As J.D. begins to head towards a funnel cloud, lightning strikes a nearby power pole and jumps to his van. The lightning travels quickly through the vehicle and strikes his left arm as it was resting on the open window. J.D. is able to call for help, and is dispatched to 911. Watch as these storm chasers risk their lives for the perfect storm. This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.
