The Discovery Channel's series "Monster Garage" certainly fits the bill. Like TLC's "Junkyard Wars," this show pits mechanically inclined experts and enthusiasts against the clock to build a truly original machine. In this case, the crew actually starts with an existing vehicle -- a car, truck, SUV or even a hearse -- and customizes it to create something very different.
