Garden at Sainte-Adresse by Claude Monet
Claude Monet painted Garden at Sainte-Adresse
in 1867. Painted in the resort town of Sainte-Adresse, this work
features several of Monet's relatives relaxing on a terrace. But the
true subject is motion and color, as seen in the fluttering flags and
the vivid tones of the gladioli and geraniums against the cool green
foliage and brilliant blue sky.
